EARLY RISERS

Those who rise early cart the cause of the day
This is a title those who procrastinate will never clinch. If you roll on your bed for the first few minutes of your consciousness, another person gets to decide how your day looks like. Take the case of a family living together. Someone wakes first and makes breakfast. Others wake to a prepared table. It is either you take what you are offered or go hungry! Fast thinkers act on something close to impulse.

They have an advantage: their ideas don’t die. Someone who thoroughly scrutinizes his ideas is susceptible to giving up on some of his ideas. Fast thinkers don’t have that luxury. They lack finesse but are full of motivation. They are more concerned, first, about bringing their child to birth then they think of how to care for the child.

Some people claim that the firsts are not usually the bests. That is absolutely true. But who is talking about being the best? I was talking about ground breakers. The reason they can’t be the best is because others developed on their example. The spicy thing about being the first is that you set the minimum standard!

Fast thinkers don’t rule the world. Best thinkers do. But fast thinkers give the world something to think about. That sounds more like a king-maker rather than the king himself. Best thinkers usually take their time analyzing each and every detail of their thoughts. They consider problems, alternatives, profit marginalization and all the technicalities involved in the business.

Fast thinkers generate the ideas; they take all the glory of the inventor. They take the monopoly even if it is for a minute. There is a sense of fulfillment in being a fast thinker. I love the legendary quote that says do not be afraid of those who dream at night, but of those who dream in broad day light for their eyes are open to live their very dream. How about those rise very early so they don’t forget their dreams!
